Professional Background

IMG_0022Since graduating from West Virginia University College of Law in 1984, my law practice has focused primarily on litigation in both state and federal courts on a national basis.

I am fortunate to have experienced a diverse legal career for over 33 years. I have been inside legal counsel for four major corporations, two of which were oil and gas producers. I was the Assistant Federal Public Defender, and then Acting Federal Public Defender, for the Southern District of West Virginia, early in my career. You can read more about what I have done HERE.

In 2000, I established my own generalist law practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Although I now focus my practice primarily on four areas of the law in which I have developed more substantial expertise, I remain engaged in the general practice of law to some extent. I am always available to discuss any legal issue affecting you and I do not charge a fee for an initial consultation. If I do not accept your case, I will refer you to a reliable colleague whose work and reputation I trust and respect. Either way, you will be in good hands.

In addition to providing traditional legal representation, I am now offering my services as a mediator. I am on the approved list of federal mediators for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

The best way you can get to know me better is to give me a call and we can talk.
